WHERE WE STARTED
We are Matt and Liz, and we LOVE craft beer!
We have a passion for life and have enjoyed beers from all around the country! From Waterfront Brewing in Key West to Russian River in California, we have incorporated the best practices from hundreds of the many breweries we’ve visited into our home at Legacy Ale Works. Stop in and you may see us, sometimes along with our kids, in the taproom at our brewery in Jacksonville working and enjoying the fruits of our labor.

We’ve grown, and we’re excited about where we are!
After several challenging years, thanks in part to Covid, our brewery in Bartram has grown in leaps and bounds. In 2022 we expanded to take on a new active managing partner, Warren Huelsnitz. Warren’s personal journey in the craft beer industry began in 2019. After 21 years of service in the U.S. Navy and experience as a high-energy particle physicist, Warren became restless and started looking for the next challenge in his life. So, he took up all-grain home brewing and later gained professional brewing experience at Veterans United Craft Brewery. Warren joined Legacy as an assistant brewer in the fall of 2020. In 2022, he became a co-owner and managing partner. But that’s not the only way we’ve grown!

It doesn’t stop here!
Our recently completed taproom and brewery expansion is allowing us to continue to produce some of the best craft beer in Florida. We’re continuing to host amazing events catering to all tastes, from food and beer pairings to craft beer events in Jacksonville, and even the city’s best Oktoberfest celebration. Our private event room allows us host groups of 20 to 60 people, from corporate happy hours to rehearsal dinners and everything in between!
We’re looking to the future with the possibility of expanding our reach through distribution so that we can reach more beer enthusiasts across the state or even the country. In the meantime, we’re having a blast and are enjoying every minute you’re with us in the taproom!
