Shoeboxes for Seniors (Updated for 2023)

Many of the elderly living in area nursing homes have forgotten the excitement once felt from opening a present wrapped and left under a tree. This is why a local nonprofit, Forgotten Angels, made it their mission to restore holiday joy to the faces of so many elderly in and around Northeast Florida. To date, they have provided over 3,000 smiles to residents who may have otherwise gone without. We selected Forgotten Angels as our holiday nonprofit so we could help them increase their impact in the community and are hosting a Shoebox for Seniors drive for the month of November.

Now through December 3rd, we’re asking our customers and friends to consider bringing in an unwrapped plastic shoebox filled with (new) items of comfort and joy. Then on December 4th we’ll be joined by our friends at Forgotten Angels to host a wrapping party to prepare the shoeboxes for delivery. They’ll work to deliver the filled and wrapped boxes along with so many hugs to area residents spreading holiday joy around the city. Take it one step further by including a small blanket to be wrapped together with your shoebox!

We would love to reach our goal of 200 shoeboxes.

Last year, we prepared 144 boxes for area seniors. We’d like to beat that by filling 200 boxes with love! If you don’t have the time or resources to prepare a box, we’ll be glad to do it for you! Visit our donation page where you can submit a monetary contribution. Trust us when we say, any amount counts and is greatly appreciated! 100% of your donation will go directly toward preparing a shoebox for a local senior!
